The condo property was a bit more of a "fixer-upper" than we anticipated and took 6 weeks of determined work. Baseboard was missing, backsplash gone, doorknobs broken, window coverings a loss, and walls, ceilings, and baseboards in desperate need of paint. My daughter was a tremendous help the entire first week painting ceilings and walls. My husband swooped in on the second weekend to help with door hardware, futon assembly, and assorted tasks. My daughter volunteered later for more furniture assembly. (And lightened her mama's spirits when her birthday rolled around with no hope of going home soon.) In the middle of it all, I eventually felt AT HOME. Working remotely at my day job, I came to enjoy the space, the views, the walks, and even now, miss the sound of the seagulls in the morning.
Furnished for maximum sleeping, thus maximum guests per stay.
Back into a living room, designed for 2 extra guests and relaxing comfort.
Not much visible change here, just the tending to lots of small fixes.
A bit of paint, a few lines of caulk, and general cleanup was in order.
It's a tight space, no changing that. New blinds all around.
Upgrade seating to 4, with wall decor to brighten the space.
Bilious blue, flaking window sill, and old curtains had to go.
The room where the boat theme started. Quiet accent wall, new lighting, rug down for coziness, and fresh blinds.
Already had a nice surround, but the low shower head needed a lift.
New lighting, backsplash, mirror, shelf, towels, curtain and adjustable shower head for a small bathroom.
Replaced the broken washer/dryer (with its own troubled story) with louvered doors that had seen better days.
Total cleanup, with a fresh coat of taupe on the doors for now.
